Updates to TruckScience Axle Weight Calculator today

Updates to TruckScience Axle Weight Calculator today 150 150 TruckScience

The latest version of our Axle Weight Calculator is being released today.  Here’s a quick overview of the changes you can expect to see.

Weight field labels

Weight labels - truck weight distribution

We’ve changed the labels on the Weights fields to make them more intuitive to users worldwide.  Mass has been renamed to Weight, Tare to Curb Weight, Permissible Mass to Legislative Limit, Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) to Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Combination Mass (GCM) to Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR), Drawing Mass to Towing Weight, GVM to Gross Trailer Weight Rating (GTWR) and so on.  The previous labels will still show for users whose browser language is set to English (South Africa).

Security Upgrade

All of your communication with the TruckScience Axle Weight Calculator application is now encrypted, using the HTTPS internet security protocol.  This ensures the privacy and integrity of your data. Users logging in through our homepage, truckscience.com, won’t notice any difference and using the old http address will automatically forward to https.  You might like to update your bookmark to the new address though, https://online.truckscience.com

Saving calculations in Internet Explorer

truck weight distribution 2

Some users of TruckScience were unable to save their truck weight distribution calculations using the Internet Explorer browser.  This issue has been resolved now.  Since Google Chrome will not allow the Microsoft Silverlight plugin to run after September 2015, we encourage everyone to use TruckScience in Internet Explorer from now on.
