TruckScience spent an invigorating week in Indianapolis at The Work Truck Show 2019.
Having launched our partnership with NTEA, we were excited to get to the show, to meet – and more importantly – learn directly from NTEA members about what they need in a Weight Calculator.
Weight Calculator Demos
We joined with Steve Spata, Technical Assistance Director at NTEA, to run joint Weight Calculator demos on the NTEA booth. The demos attracted a focused cohort of work truck industry professionals, and afterward, spilled into personalized demos on the booth. NTEA members engaged us in thought-provoking discussions, and shared actionable suggestions about how we can enhance the app to better meet their needs. Our developers are already working on these.
NTEA offers a web-based Vehicle Center of Gravity & Axle Weight Calculator as a free member benefit, and has partnered with TruckScience to offer Association members a next-level solution, to provide members, who have more complex project needs, a higher level of functionality and support.
We were honored to be guests of NTEA at the President’s Breakfast and 55th NTEA Annual Meeting, attended by over 2000 guests. Outgoing Board Chairman, Todd Davis, outlined the organization’s achievements for the year, including NTEA’s new partnership with TruckScience, before handing over the gavel to NTEA’s 55th Board Chairman, Wm. Craig Bonham. NFL legends Peyton Manning and his father, Archie entertained guests with tales of big hits on the football field, and Jeffrey Gitomer, acclaimed speaker and writer of many sales books, implored attendees to build trust and customer loyalty, by delivering value.
Fun & Games
The show had kicked off on Tuesday night with a lively opening reception at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. We met with Blue, the charming Colts mascot, and their friendly Cheerleaders. We tried our hand at Giant Beer Pong, Giant Jenga (This was shaping up to be a big week!), but the advice on the ground was to avoid the temptation to try a field goal, as hamstring muscles would be required for navigating the extensive show floor in the coming days.
A record 14,256 industry professionals from 28 countries attended The Work Truck Show 2019 as Work Truck Week continues to grow in an evolving commercial truck industry. Event highlights included vehicle introductions, equipment demonstrations, expanded educational opportunities, and the industry’s broadest display of vocational trucks and equipment. More about that here.
