Application Infrastructure
Following a complete overhaul of our application infrastructure, we have made significant
improvements to our application security, stability and performance.
The responsiveness of complex calculations, including those with imported custom drawings, is
much enhanced.
We have implemented sophisticated infrastructure monitoring, which allows us to collect
operational and performance data that helps to identify, diagnose and fix issues in a timely fashion.
As our application is connected to the cloud, we are forever mindful of vulnerabilities to security
threats and breaches. We have further enhanced the security of the platform as part of this
infrastructure upgrade.
Still simple and elegant, we are moving forward now with a solid platform on which to develop
future functionality.
Ohio Turnpike
We have added weights and dimensions limits for the Ohio Turnpike highway to our library of road
regulations.
Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission
(OTIC) are operated separately. ODOT is run by the state and issues special hauling permits for the
state routes in Ohio except for the Turnpike. OTIC is run by an appointed Commission. Special
hauling permits for the Ohio Turnpike are issued only by the Ohio Turnpike.
The maximum gross weight allowed on the Ohio Turnpike, without a special hauling permit, is
90,000 lbs., as long as the axle weights are legal.
More information regarding the Ohio Tunrpike can be found here.

Work Truck Week 2023
We’re looking forward to being in Indianapolis for Work Truck Week 2023, from March 7-10.
Our CEO, Jens Hellberg, will present the Building Better Commercial Vehicles – Spec’ing 101 educational session on Tuesday, March 7 (3:00 PM – 4:15 PM in Room 133).
Jens will explain how to spec’ and sell the right vehicles for your customers, to minimize total cost of
ownership and build loyalty. He will explore how changing elements in your commercial vehicle
specifications can be the foundation for improved sales and growth. And you will learn how your
organization can utilize resources available from NTEA and TruckScience to help enhance processes
and optimize vehicle efficiency.

Stop by the NTEA Partners booth (3400), for a live demo of our Axle Weight Calculator and a
TruckScience ball cap. Hope to see you there!
