Save Individual Components 726 265 TruckScience

In response to feedback from our valued Axle Weight Calculator users, we have today added the ability to save individual components to the user profile, for reuse across calculations.

Now a user can add a body or ‘Other Accessory’ to a vehicle, specify values for the dimensions, weight, horizontal and vertical center of gravity of that component, then save it to the user profile, with a description that will identify it easily in future. From then on, it will be available in the list of bodies or other accessories, for reuse in future calculations.

Save Body

Whether you’re designing snow ploughs, refrigerated bodies, tankers, tippers or indeed anything else for which you can specify weight, dimensions and centers of gravity, and can be added to a truck, you can now design these components once and use them as often as you like.

We expect that this feature will help save truck designers, body builders and vehicle certifiers even more time in future.

Recent Features

We are always improving our apps and this feature is the latest in a set of much anticipated changes to the app, including
– Calculation of overall centre of gravity
– Adding pusher, tag and second steer axles

Vertical Center of Gravity

The Axle Weight Calculator’s center of gravity calculation takes into account the weights, centers of gravity and positions of all equipment that is added to the base vehicle which may affect the vertical center of gravity of the complete vehicle.

Adding Axles

You can add Second Steer axles, Pusher axles and Tag axles and specify whether or not they can be raised. These lift axles or drop axles are included in the axle weight calculations, and of course, the axle weight distribution differs based on whether the axles are dropped or raised.

Your Ideas

We would love to hear about what features you would like to see added next. Please get in touch to tell us about the top features on your wish list today.
