TruckScience at WasteExpo 2022

It was our first time exhibiting at the show, and it certainly didn’t disappoint.
Catching Up
Having come through 2 years of Covid restrictions, with very limited opportunities for meeting our customers and friends in the industry, the post-pandemic show promised to be an exciting return to in-person events.
Our Valued Customers
Many of our valued customers were exhibiting at the show, and had some exciting developments to share.
Stellar Industries was there with the all-new NXT18 Telescopic Hooklift. Swaploader was running live demonstrations of their new 100-series Hydraulic Body Lock on the new SL-214 model hydraulic hook lift hoist.
And XL Fleet unveiled its all-electric pre-series powertrain on a Quantum garbage truck, as part of a collaboration with Curbtender, Inc.
More of our customers were walking the show floor, and we appreciated all of those who took the time to stop by. We were equally happy to see our old friends from Brown Industries, as our new friends from Kois Brothers Equipment who signed up for a TruckScience subscription for the first time at the show.
Refuse Bodies and Equipment
From refuse truck bodies, balers, containers, compactors and street sweepers, to cranes, grapples, hoists and tarping systems, the show had a huge range of equipment on display.
OEMs
Just a few refuse truck chassis manufacturers were represented at the show, including Kenworth and Peterbilt.
Upfitters
We always enjoy getting insights from industry-leading waste body manufacturers and upfitters, like Dickson Equipment Co, Heil, McNeilus Truck & Manufacturing, Custom Truck OneSource and Rush Refuse Systems.
Cities
Many towns and cities had representatives from their fleet divisions at the show, and we were grateful to the folks from City of Charlotte, City of Toronto and Town of Washington, among many others, who stopped by for a live demo of the TruckScience Axle Weight Calculator.
The whole event was really well organized, from the impressive opening at Allegiant Stadium, right down to the tear down on the last day.
Viva Las Vegas
Las Vegas was out in all its glory, as it always is.
And of course, no visit to Las Vegas would be complete without soaking up some of the atmosphere at the Fremont Street Experience.
Though it’s always worth reflecting on the old Irish saying before a visit… “Súil le cúiteamh a mhilleas an cearrbhach”, meaning, ‘The hope of recoup is what ruins the gambler.” 😉
