Today’s release adds the ability to import drawings of your own bodies from dxf files, to take your printed reports to the next level.
If you use CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks) for design and drafting, now you can export 3D models to 2D drawings, then import them into your library in the Axle Weight Calculator. Having true-to-life drawings completes the picture in the app and on reports, and is an important advantage when presenting drawings with sales proposals.
Undo and Redo
If you’d like to temporarily test a different value, or if you just want to undo a mistake, now you can undo your actions, in the order in which you carried them out. And what good is Undo without Redo? We’ve added both. You’ll find them just to the right of the Save and Share icons on the toolbar. The Undo feature was requested by lots of users. Do you have more ideas for improving the app?
CG in inches, millimeters or as a percentage
When specifying center of gravity of body, equipment, or payload, you can define this value in inches or millimeters from front, side or bottom of the item, or as a percentage of its length, height or width.
Enhanced Templates
When using a template body, the body length can be specified as Internal or External length.
When specifying the body length, you can select from sensible defaults, including Available Chassis, Maximum length and Optimum length, that is the length at which maximum axle capacity is utilized.
Default weights for many standard body materials, such as aluminum & steel, are also provided for your convenience.
Payload Forward Of The Headboard
Where payload needs to be placed forward of the headboard, for example above the cab, a negative value can be specified for distance from headboard.
Wheelbase Guidelines
You’re now guided by minimum and maximum wheelbase length, as stipulated by the OEM and regulations. Users in Australia will also benefit from the application of the Victoria Class 3 Road Friendly Suspension Mass Exemption Notice 2019 (No.1) when axle weight limits are checked.
Library Updates
We’ve added vehicles from the following ranges, Ford Super Duty, Freightliner Severe Duty, FUSO Canter, GMC Sierra, Hino 300 Series, Isuzu FVR, Iveco Stralis and Trakker ranges, MAN TGX, Mercedes-Benz Actros, Mitsubishi Triton, Peterbilt, Scania, UD Trucks Croner, Quester and Quon ranges, Volvo FE, Volvo FMX, Volvo VHD and VW Amarok.
Trailers, bodies and equipment added include Smith Capital Equipment aerial platforms, Transtech compactors, hoists, Cormach and LiftMoore cranes, forklifts, Hyva hookloaders, Tommy Gate lift gates, stabilizers, Transfrig fridges.
These items were added at the request of users in United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
Best Technology Business Award
In other news, TruckScience recently scooped the award for Best Technology Business at the Mayo Business Awards. Pictures and more on that here.
