Swap Vehicle
When you’ve configured a vehicle with body, equipment and payload, you can swap out the vehicle chassis now, rather than having to start over. Simply click on the Vehicle icon, then the Swap Vehicle icon and select another vehicle from our library.
Add equipment to complete vehicles
We now allow crane, hitch or ‘Other’ equipment items to be added to complete or road-ready vehicles, such as vans.
Fridge mounting position
When you’re placing the condenser on the inside of the body, you may need to push the fridge up slightly, in which case the fridge may protrude above the body. To allow you to do this, you can now specify a negative mounting position for the fridge.
Align Rear of Chassis to Rear of Body
As you make changes to body position and length, you can specify that you wish to ‘Align Rear of Chassis to Rear of Body’. Thereafter, the chassis length will be simultaneously amended in line with changes to body length and position.
Speeding up the vehicle search
We’ve improved the Home screen to allow you to search by keyword, or filter the list of vehicles based on manufacturer, axle layout, etc. You can also still browse the library of vehicles available.
Configuration Report
We’ve re-structured the Configuration report to include Notes and Warnings on page 2, freeing up more space for the drawing on page 1.
Active Directory authentication
We’ve added Active Directory as an authentication option. This means you can now sign up or login to the TruckScience app using your existing Microsoft account. In future, we will also be able to assign user-level permissions based on the user’s Active Directory profile.
Usability and Performance Tweaks
As well as all of these improvements, we make improvements to the performance and usability of the app each month. These are made in response to your suggestions, the diligence of our developers and our own experience when using the app. Please keep your suggestions coming. We review them all and prioritize changes to the app in line with user demand.
Library Updates
We’ve added vehicles from Hino, FUSO, Isuzu, Iveco, MACK, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Tata, UD Trucks and VW, aerokits, cranes, hopper spreader, fridges from Carrier and Thermoking, outriggers, hitches and tipper trailers this month. These were in response to requests from users in USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Users in our core markets can request items to be added to our library, on demand, at no additional cost.
